Welcome to the
College of Arts Student Union
Our main focus is representing the concerns of undergraduate students in the College of Arts to the University of Guelph community, planning relevant academic and social events, and participating in larger student-driven initiatives on campus. An $8 per semester fee levied from all full-time undergraduate students in the College of Arts supports CASU’s endeavours. This money is used to cover the cost of events, provide funding to our clubs and groups, as well as the daily operations of the college student government.
Over the year, CASU hosts many events for Arts students. Beginning with Orientation Week, CASU welcomes incoming students with the College Lunch, our annual Tie Dye event, and several collaborative ventures. Arts Pubs are also popular events and held each semester. Additional programming includes possible Career Nights, where students have a chance to interact with Arts alumni, movie nights, academic-focused events, and our annual Build-A-Band event which is a great way for student performers to showcase their talents. CASU Clubs also hold their own events throughout the school year.

CASU is responsible for accrediting student clubs in the College of Arts that have been determined to represent the interests or concerns of the student body. Once accredited, through the Petitions, Delegations, and Representations (PDR) procedure, funding and various forms of support can then be awarded and provided.
Each club also provides a member to sit on CASU's governing Board that oversees all of the student union's activities by acting as a decision-making body, brainstorming new ideas, offering input on relative issues, and by ensuring that all various student interests and concerns represented by CASU's broad range of clubs are being met.
